리랭커는 어떻게 작동하나요?

리랭커는 쿼리와 후보 문서 집합을 입력으로 받아, 의미적 관련성에 따라 재정렬된 목록을 반환합니다. 문서들은 일반적으로 임베딩 기반 검색 시스템의 초기 결과이며, 리랭커는 이러한 후보 문서의 순위를 개선하고 더 정확한 관련성 점수를 제공합니다.

쿼리와 문서를 별도로 인코딩하는 임베딩 모델과 달리, 리랭커는 쿼리와 문서 쌍을 함께 처리하는 크로스 인코더로, 더 정확한 관련성 예측을 가능하게 합니다. 따라서 임베딩 기반 검색(또는 BM25 및 TF-IDF와 같은 lexical 검색 알고리즘)을 통해 검색된 상위 후보에 리랭커를 적용하는 것이 일반적입니다.
